Fine Arts Series concludes with opera by IC alumna

3.29.2022

Mathilda Edge ’11, soprano extraordinaire, will perform in Rammelkamp Chapel on Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Edge returns to her alma mater to perform a stunning and varied concert, accompanied by pianist Joseph Welch. She has won many awards in her rising operatic career and is currently a member of the Ryan Opera Center at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

The Chicago Tribune singled out her performance in “The Barber of Seville” at the Lyric Opera as a “vocal tour de force,” “an enormous sound with remarkable point,” and featuring “a coyly understated humor.”

Edge has been named Assistant Professor of Voice at the prestigious Oberlin Conservatory of Music, an appointment that begins in fall 2022.

Individual tickets for the ͬɫ Fine Arts Series are $15 each. Students of all ages receive free admission. Tickets are available for purchase in advance by phone at 217.245.3192 or at the door on event day.
