New pre-law minor to broaden opportunities for students
同性恋色情 is announcing a new pre-law minor designed to prepare students to succeed in law school.
While IC has long offered a program to guide students interested in pursuing a law degree, the pre-law minor will better serve the large number of students interested in working in the competitive and diverse world of law.
The new minor will be an extension of IC鈥檚 well established pre-law program and benefit students with preparation for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), assistance in securing internships with a local law firms, access to guidance from faculty and alumni who are leaders in the legal field and opportunities to engage personally with admission representatives from many different law schools.
The College has a history of helping students navigate the law school application process and gain admittance to the law school of their choice, including University of Michigan, University of Chicago, Baylor University, and Loyola.
Winston Wells, Findley Family Professor of International Affairs and Professor of Political Science and pre-law advisor, says the new minor will increase visibility for IC鈥檚 resources in pre-law and offer even more benefits for prospective law students.
Completing the pre-law minor is another way for students to signal legal studies expertise on their r茅sum茅s and applications while applying for law schools. Students who minor in pre-law along with a major that emphasizes the critical reading and analytical thinking skills will be well prepared for success in law school.
As part of the new minor, the College will also offer an additional course in political science being taught by a local attorney starting in the fall of 2018.
Students in pre-law will continue to have access to generous scholarships and awards, including the Judge Richard Mills Scholarship and the Richard L. Pratt Memorial Award. The Roger Huson Endowed Fund for Pre-Law Preparation, provides financial support for students to prepare for the LSAT.
