Whether it has been a few months or a few decades since your days on the Hilltop, become a student with us again. 

The Lifelong Learning Series is a free lecture series exclusively for ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé alumni and friends — and an opportunity to connect with alumni around the world who share a dedication to personal growth and lifelong learning. Learn something new from current professors, talented staff and fellow alumni who are accomplished leaders in their fields during these unique events similar to the convocations that are an enriching part of an ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé education. The Lifelong Learning Series is sponsored by the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Alumni Association.

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Title IX, A conversation with IC women in sports

Amy Wilson '93

We are kicking off 2023 with a session that will be educational and inspirational. Keynote Speaker Amy Wilson ’93 managing director of inclusion at the NCAA, will share her insights on Title IX, which revolutionized college athletics by requiring all educational institutions in the US to treat male and female athletes equally. Wilson is the leading advocate for diversity, inclusion and gender equity in college athletics. She is an IC alumna, and former faculty. After her talk, Amy will be joined by a panel of IC alumni representing women in sports:

  • was a 2003 inductee into the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Hall of Fame. She started four years in softball and three years in volleyball, was a two-time captain in both sports, a two-time softball MVP, and IC’s Doris Hopper Award winner in 1981-82.  
  • Rachel Smith Rohn ’07 was a member of the volleyball and track & field teams. She served as an assistant coach for volleyball and track & field for 3 years and as the head volleyball coach for 3 years. She manages and owns Fitness World, K’s Creek Golf Club and Kitchen 63, The Vault and the Midwest Athletic Center in Jacksonville, with her husband, John Rohn ’06.
  •  is a 2022 inductee into the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Hall of Fame. She was a four-year letter winner in softball and a three-year letter winner in basketball, and was named First Team All-Conference three years in a row for softball.
  • Kendra Bass '22 was a 4-year member of the Lady Blues women’s basketball team and is currently an assistant coach with the team.  During her senior season she started every game and averaged 14.9 points per game.  She led the team with 38 three-pointers made and was named to the Second Team All-Conference. Kendra is a physical education teacher at Winchester High School and also serves as the Junior High Girls Basketball Coach.
