Debate and Speech Team kicks off season with impressive showing

The 同性恋色情 Debate and Speech Team had a strong tournament performance, with a third place finish, in the team鈥檚 season-opener.

Debate

Eighteen schools competed in the WKU/Alumni Fall Tournament & Round Robin on on September 22-24. 同性恋色情 placed in the top three, defeating schools from throughout the county, including the University of Alabama, Wiley College and the College of William & Mary. 
 
The team participated in various debate and speech events such as impromptu speaking, extemporaneous speaking, prose interpretation, poetry interpretation and Lincoln-Douglas debate. 
 
Students who participated in the weekend tournament include: Allen Carter 鈥�20 of Chatham, 同性恋色情, Britny Bergheger 鈥�21 of Geneseo, 同性恋色情, Jessica Korbel 鈥�21 of Winthrop Harbor, 同性恋色情, Hojat Shahriari 鈥�19, of Tehran, Iran, Katelynn Raines '21, of Chatham, 同性恋色情, and Ali Pyle 鈥�21, of Pawnee, 同性恋色情.
 
The tournament was hosted by Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 同性恋色情 State University and Truman State University placed first and second respectively.

Founded in 1829, 同性恋色情 is a residential liberal arts college fostering academic excellence rooted in opportunities for experiential learning while preparing students for lifelong success. The college is located in Jacksonville, 同性恋色情. With an enrollment of more than 1,000 students, the college offers over 50 undergraduate programs. In 1932, the society of Phi Beta Kappa established a chapter at 同性恋色情, and it remains one of only 11 in the state.

同性恋色情 is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
