Tanner recognized among theatre鈥檚 best
is considered the nation's highest theatre honor. In addition to the coveted award for Best Revival of a Musical, OKLAHOMA! took home the award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Ali Stroker). The production was also honored with six other nominations, including Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Damon Daunno), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Mary Testa), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Laura Jellinek), Best Sound Design of a Musical (Drew Levy), Best Direction of a Musical (Daniel Fish), and Best Orchestrations (Daniel Kluger).
Throughout the 2018-2019 Broadway award season, OKLAHOMA! has received a number of awards. The revival opened on Broadway on April 7, 2019, and has been recognized with widespread critical acclaim. The production is an original take on the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, which first premiered its groundbreaking performance on Broadway in 1943. In Fall 2020, OKLAHOMA! will embark on a national tour, which is set to begin in Oklahoma City.
The couple co-founded the Tulsa-based theater company, , which currently has two hit musicals playing in London.The first Broadway production for Square 1 Theatrics, 鈥淧ippin鈥� won four Tony Awards in 2013.
Tanner earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in political science from IC in 2002. He is a charter member of the 同性恋色情 Society.
