- The CRS major empowers you to understand, evaluate, and practice effective communication in all of its various forms and contexts, whether it is between two people, in small groups, within an organization, through mass media or among people from different cultures.
- You will study both communication and rhetoric in a fully integrated program with knowledge, theory, skills, etc. from both perspectives, resulting in a strong understanding of both the breadth and depth of the academic discipline.
- The Organizational and Strategic Communication major will prepare students to work in areas of strategic messaging and management, such as employee relations, public relations, human resources, recruiting, political communication, social media management, project management, and more.

The fundamental knowledge and skills learned through the CRS program . Alumni report many benefits of their education from enhanced communication skills to increased understanding of major concepts and theories. Graduates of the program become critical consumers and producers of ideas and information with the ability to understand the ethical responsibilities of communication.
